Missing a Kitty Here

I still miss this sight in the kitchen - Pepper waiting for something to eat. Our cat food consumption is drastically down, as is our cat litter usage. It's so much quieter in the mornings, too. She used to wail loudly if we did not get up soon enough for her tastes.

Sleep Well Sweet Pepper

Today when I came home from work Don said that Pepper was failing badly. One look and I knew it was time. Dr. K was not in his office, so on a referral from his office assistant, we took our old kitty to the drop in clinic at PetSmart. A very kind vet there confirmed what we feared, she was indeed near death, so we had her put to sleep. I have such mixed emotions, but I know that there was nothing more we could do to save her and I am afraid she was in so much pain.

So goodbye pretty kitty ... you were loved and you will be missed.
